The breakout choir for Mama Foundation for the Arts, Sing Harlem Choir was formed out of the Gospel for Teens program (GFT) founded in 2006 by legendary radio personality and producer Vy Higginsen. Over the years, under the direction of Ahmaya Knoelle Higginson, the Mama Foundation and Sing Harlem choir has changed the lives of countless students, promising each that their voices will "Be Seen and Be Heard" to the fullness of their experience. With your generosity, we are able to provide tuition-free programming and sustain ourselves as a Harlem legacy institution where an intergenerational and interracial community can lift their voices, tell their stories, and open their hearts.
